Tuesday May 8th was an exciting night, as the FLCV hosted a Finnish Lapphund Breed Lecture for Members, Lappie Enthusiasts, Judges and Aspiring Judges.
Our special guest Lecturer was Linda Marden of Sugarok Kennels (USA). Linda has had extensive involvement in the Finnish Lapphund Breed for over 24 years, with numerous trips to Europe to learn more of the breed, the importation of 22 dogs, and the breeding of 232 puppies over 45 litters- which have assisted in forming a solid foundation in North America. She is the President of the Finnish Lapphund Club of America, and has lectured extensively on the breed across the USA and Canada.
The night was a great success with many people walking away with a wealth of new knowledge, and some great notes to peruse over at home.
A lot of thanks need to go out to many people. Firstly to Linda Marden for taking her own time out of her trip to share her knowledge of the breed with us all; To our President Jacq Lincoln for organising this event and helping it run so smoothly, even though we were faced with a few technical difficulties; to all who bought along a plate of food to share- There was definately a few diets broken that night!; and to all the interstaters, members, enthusiasts, judges and aspiring judges who took their own time to come along and learn some more about our beautiful breed!
Here we capture and record our members adventures with their furry friends.
