August 7th 2011 was a big day for not just the FLCV, but also for 12 excited Lappies and their humans, as they were taking part in the FLCV Lappie Herding Fun Day.

The purpose of this day was to introduce some Lappies and their owners to some sheep, and to try their paw at some herding. It was great to see these Lappies switch on their Herding Instinct. Unfortunately we dont have Reindeer at arm's reach, so sheep are the next best option. We certainly did have some budding herders amongst the crowd!

In attendance was: David with Taavi and Mutkis; Terri and Steve with Ruby, Bear, Sohvi and Tasha; Claudia with Finn; Mel with Ahti; Nicole with Echo and Alera; Megan with Tarja; and Karen with Rex. Jacq also came along with Emmi and Louis (who put on a great performance for us in the big paddock) and spectators Sarah, James, Annie, Don, Claudia's mum and the Law Family.

A great big thanks need to go out to Karen and Kate of Double K Herding, for their patience with all the loud Lappies!

Karen and Kate have many Herding Clinics which you can attend. Look up their website at www.herdingtraining.com . They have all of their clinics listed, and you can contact them via their email on the website to book a spot.
